The Scriptures tell us that a sword would pierce Mary's heart as well. Mary too needed a Savior and one day Mary would hold the bloody body of her Son and give Him one last kiss goodbye. What a bittersweet kingdom purpose Mary fulfilled in both bringing Jesus into the world and holding Him in her heart and in her gaze as she stood beside Him to the end. And then in utter victory, she beheld her resurrected Savior, Lord and Son knowing He conquered the grave. May we, like Mary, rejoice in the life-giving sufferings of Jesus and glory in His resurrection power. Joy, joy for Christ is Born!
