Memorize God's Word without even trying. Handel Hymn Project turns Scripture into songs making God's Word unforgettable.
Have you ever struggled with memorizing Bible verses?
If your answer is yes, you are not alone. You will experience breakthrough in hiding God's Word in your heart today. Simply press play. We did all the work for you.
How does it work?
The memorization albums repeat a single verse to mastery then review the previous verses so you build on and integrate what you have learned. For example, in memorizing Psalm 16: track 3 is verse 3 and will be sung 10 times followed by a review of verses 1-3 sung 3 times. This enables you to learn the new verse then review the previous verses and add it in for spiral learning. Some perseverance is involved in these because the repetition can feel tedious at times, but I believe you will be surprised at how effortlessly and quickly you can put large sections of Scripture to long-term memory. The Holy Spirit illuminates different words and phrases as we narrow our gaze and repeat a verse of text and He will be faithful to help you memorize the Word.
Why A Cappella?
The memory albums are a cappella with little to no instrumentation. Why? These songs can be sung anywhere without the crutch of instruments or a recording. A cappella builds confidence in your ability to sing, recite and pray these verses out loud. It also gives a timelessness whereas instrumentation can date a song since the arrangement falls out of the current style within a few short years. Additionally, a cappella eliminates instrumental breaks helping create the through-composed style making the passage easier to speak out loud from memory. Because they are a cappella, you can sing God's Word anywhere at any time.
Helpful Tips
Think about starting with a short album like Hebrews 1:1-3 (NIV). Consider using these albums with your family, small group, church or with a friend for accountability. Some people find it helpful to look at the Scripture while the track is playing. This increases your sensory learning involving both hearing and seeing the text. You will, however, absorb the words as you play these songs on the go and do not need to devote your full attention to them in order to memorize. If you have ever said the phrase "I can't get that song out of my head," be encouraged because soon you will be saying the same about Scripture.
Prayer
Jesus, I desire to know You personally and intimately. Empower me to memorize Your Word so that I can know You more. Guide me to the specific verse or passage that You want me to memorize at this time. Fill my heart with Your Word so that I may worship You in Spirit and in Truth. Help me as I renew my mind and transform me until I can't help but live what I have learned. Amen.
